Apple Touch Screen Laptop

Cult of Mac has this interesting post about an all-screen touch screen laptop by Apple. It’s the author’s creative rendition of a dream notebook. The author alludes to the dream device as the ‘Apple Brick’. While there is slim chance of actually being in development and even slimmer chance of being released to the public anytime soon, this concept laptop is something that would probably cost more than two the top of the line iMacs.

The idealization of this laptop is more like a thin book or thick paper that folds in half, and snaps when fully opened to form one solid display surface. Wouldn’t that be ideal for full page scanning and photo viewing? I like the idea of being able to recognize ebooks and displaying the contents on dual pages so it holds like an actual physical book. Much better than amazon’s kindle.

That would take touch screen laptops to a whole new level and the world would have to have something close to that design before I would consider using a touch screen laptop for myself. Laptops as we know are not very mobile in practicality. The accessories and extended battery packs almost defunct the whole concept of convenient mobility.

An all-screen touch screen laptop would offer maximum viewing capabilities, versatility for different applications, and would have to eliminate the need for accessories. Oh yeah did I mention no one stopped to consider battery life of such a device.  A full screen touch screen laptop would probably suck more juice than commercial refrigerator. At this rate we’d expect some more like the best gaming router from Apple than a fully functioning, full sized touch screen computer.
